The 200-gallon storage tank — included

RO makes water steadily rather than instantly, so a storage tank is what turns it into whole-house pressure on demand. A 200-gallon Norwesco vertical tank is included in the package, not an add-on.

  • 30″ diameter × 72″ tall — chosen specifically because 30 inches fits through a standard doorway
  • UV-15 stabilised resin — best-in-class UV resistance
  • Vented lid and outlet fitting standard
  • FDA-grade resin, rated for potable water

Need more storage? Larger tanks — 250, 300, 500, 1,000 gallons and up — are available where access allows. The limiting factor is almost never price; it is whether the tank can physically reach the install location. That gets checked on the walkthrough, before anything is ordered.

Whole-Home RO FAQs

What people ask before they buy

How much does a whole-home reverse osmosis system cost installed?
Aqua Cat Plumbing installs the Aqua Cat whole-home reverse osmosis system for $14,999.99 flat. That price includes the Whole-Home RO system (stainless steel, Goulds pump, dual TDS meters), permeate storage tank, booster pump, all parts, and the loop plumbing. The system produces 1.39 GPM (about 2,000 gallons per day) of RO water at every tap in the home, removing up to 98.5% of total dissolved solids.
What size home does the Whole-Home RO system fit?
The Aqua Cat Whole-Home RO is sized for large residential homes (typically 4,000 sq ft and up), or any home with high water demand — 4 or more bathrooms, large family, hot tubs, or filling pools and ponds. It produces 2,000 gallons per day. For homes under 3,500 sq ft with normal use, the under-sink Aqua Cat RO at $829 installed delivers RO drinking water at the kitchen sink for much less.
What does the Whole-Home RO actually remove?
The Aqua Cat Whole-Home RO system removes up to 98.5% of total dissolved solids including arsenic, lead, fluoride, chromium-6, nitrates, sulfates, sodium, and most pharmaceuticals and PFAS compounds. The 100-Series 4040 thin-film composite membrane is rejection-rated at 98.5% nominal. For best results, install a softener and catalytic carbon pre-filter upstream — Aqua Cat configures the whole stack.
Does the Aqua Cat Whole-Home RO come with a warranty?
Every system carries a manufacturer warranty, and Aqua Cat adds our standard 2-year installation warranty on top — if anything plumbing-related fails during the first 24 months, we fix it free. Aqua Cat membranes are typically 3-5 year service life depending on water quality; we include a complimentary check-up at the end of the first year to monitor TDS and pressure.
How long does installation take?
Most whole-home RO installs in Prescott take 1 to 1.5 days. Day one we install the Whole-Home RO system, permeate storage, booster, and tie in the loop plumbing. Day two if needed for electrical inspection or final calibration. We coordinate with you on a date that works around your household schedule.
What if my loop plumbing run is complicated?
Older Prescott homes with complex routing, slab penetrations, or finished-basement work take longer. The flat rate covers it either way — you get a written scope before any work starts.
Do you service Phoenix and Scottsdale for whole-home RO?
Yes. The Whole-Home RO install travels well — we serve Phoenix, Scottsdale, Glendale, Surprise, and Sun City for whole-home RO installs in addition to our Prescott home base. Call (480) 228-8282 with your address.
What ongoing maintenance does the Whole-Home RO need?
Pre-filters need replacing every 6-12 months ($85-$120 each, depending on size). The RO membrane lasts 3-5 years depending on incoming water quality — replacement runs $450-$650. Annual TDS check and pressure calibration take about 30 minutes. Aqua Cat offers a yearly maintenance visit at $189 that covers pre-filter swap, sanitization, and full system check.
Is the storage tank really included, or is that extra?
Included. A 200-gallon Norwesco vertical storage tank is part of the installed price, not an add-on. It measures 30″ in diameter by 72″ tall, and that 30-inch diameter is deliberate — it is narrow enough to pass through a standard doorway, which is what makes an indoor install possible in most homes. Larger tanks (250, 300, 500, 1,000 gallons and up) are available where the access allows, and that gets assessed on the walkthrough before anything is ordered.
Why does a whole-home RO need a storage tank at all?
Because reverse osmosis produces water steadily rather than instantly. The AEC-2000 makes about 1.39 gallons a minute — roughly 2,000 gallons a day — which is plenty for a household over 24 hours but not enough to feed three showers at once straight off the membrane. The tank banks that production so the house draws from stored RO water at full pressure whenever it wants it. Without storage you would have RO water and no pressure, which is why systems sold without a tank tend to disappoint.
What does the first year of maintenance cover?
Filter changes, membrane inspection, TDS verification in and out, and system service across the first full year — already paid for within the installed price. RO systems need their pre-filters changed on schedule or membrane life suffers, so covering year one means the maintenance actually happens rather than getting deferred. After the first year you can either book service as needed or arrange an ongoing plan.
Is this overkill for a house?
For many homes, honestly, yes — and you will be told so. This is light-commercial equipment: stainless housings, a Goulds pump, 2,000 gallons a day. It earns its price in large homes (4,000+ sq ft), houses on well water with high TDS, properties where an under-sink unit cannot keep up, or where somebody wants RO quality at every tap rather than one faucet. If a $829 under-sink RO and a softener would solve your actual problem for a fraction of this, that is the recommendation you will get.
This price is the same anywhere in Arizona

On a system this size the value carries the travel, so the installed price does not change with your zip code — Prescott, Flagstaff, Tucson or the far corner of the state, it is the same flat rate. Aqua Cat will confirm access and timing on the call.

Ready for bottled-water quality at every tap?

Aqua Cat (owner-operated) will walk your install personally. No sales pressure. Straight answers about whether Whole-Home RO is right for your home, or whether the $829 under-sink RO would serve you better.
